Bonk is a simple mouse action shareware game inspired by the gopher
games in some video arcades-the ones where you "Bonk" the gophers
on the head with a soft mallet. There is a 256 Color and Black and
White version included with documentation. Bonk is System 7.0 compatible
shareware. Try it and share it!

Geez, I think I got it right this time, if not, well too bad, no upload.
This is my last attempt to upload the DD patchkit 3.7.1 or newer to 3.7.6.
Here goes nothing.
The following file was obtainted from AOL, Industry connection/Salient. This is the patch upgrade for DiskDoubler (version 3.7.x >3.7.6). This file was checked for viruses with SAM and Disinfectant (so it had better be clean). Please take the time to read through the text files enclosed for your own benifit.
Happy computing!

Tunnel vision is a System Extension-Control Panel combination for use with Macintosh systems with multiple monitors when the user doesnUt desire to use the multiple monitors. T.V. temporarily disables any monitors (except for the Rmain screenS) at startup time so that you can concentrate on one screen. Tunnel Vision is System 7.0 Dependent shareware. If you have multiple monitors and System 7.0, try it!

SIMANT is a game made by Maxis.

there another simple solution for this transfer?
Where can I get a copy of the Works to Works Translator (via

I believe (and Bill can correct me if I'm wrong) that Apple System
software cannot be posted on Sumex. It's my understanding that it
may only be posted on approved sites and those sites must provide the
license agreements for downloaders to read.
I know that TuneUp was posted here - my guess is, it was an
exception. I doubt you can post Multifinder or any other System
software.

If you do not wish to boot the $$$ for Claris Cad or AutoCad (Mac Version),
both of which should do this, consider Canvas from Deneba, the super-duper
jack-of-all-trades drawing program. In addition to it's many other way-cool
features, it reads both DXF and IGES format AutoCad files.
Oh, yeah, the mac version od DesignCad also can do so and is also cheaper than
the first 2 mentioned options.

When you press the interrupt switch on a Macintosh, and you don't have any

Subject: Complex Memory Upgrade Hardware Problem
This is for all of the hardware gurus out there...
I have a Mac Plus at home which until a week ago worked more or less ok
with 2.5 megs memory. Wishing to use the grammar checker in Word, I bought
another 2, 1 meg chips from Third wave and installed them. The fun started.
The machine would power up (although it takes 24 sec from a cold boot
before the happy mac appears), display the happy mac when it detected my
hard disk, then one of several DIFFERENT things would happen:
1) Most of the time, a sad mac would appear shortly thereafter,
with OF0002 or 3.
2) Sometimes, it would throw up the Welcome to Macintosh
rectangular box then that box would get the shivers and the machine would
freeze.
3) Sometimes the machine will boot all the way, but then bomb with
an address or bus error when I try to launch ANY application.
4) Sometimes the machine will bomb (after booting all the way) if I
try to start an application on a floppy.
STRANGE!!!
What I have done:
1) Make sure the memory installation is correct. This includes
making sure the resistor is cut and not touching anything, moving chips
around, using ones that I know are good from my IIx at work. What I found
>From this is that chips in row 2 (closest to the edge of the circuit board)
must be 256k chips only. If 1 meg chips are put in there, the machine shows
the strange behavior above.
2) Check the installation of a pre-mounted box fan I got from
SoftSolutions. All connections are ok.
3) Crudely check the +5v supply. My little meter is not accurate
but it appears to be on the money.
4) Boot from the original MacPlus system disk. This is the most
successful disk to boot from. THe hard disk NEVER gets past the Welcome to
Macintosh.
5) Replace the battery (I was groping)
6) Reformat the hard disk thinking that my system software may have
been screwed up. I did this early and may not have needed to.
Has ANYbody have ANY idea what's going on? I have done memory
upgrades dozens of times on many kinds of machines and this is the first
time this sort of problem has every appeared.
I'll summarize to the group if there is sufficient common
experience and response.

Subject: Finding a cheap PB100, no luck so far.
Two questions: First has anyone found a source for PB100 2/20's at that
magical $999 price? Specifically, a place that will accept out-of-state
orders. Of all the places I called in MacUser, only 2 carried this model
and the cheaper one (Hardware that Fits) wanted $1259 (including the
external floppy, excluding s/h I assume). All the 4/40's I found were
over $2000. Actually, to ramble on here, call it Bush-speak if you must,
there is a company in the AOL classified section selling the 2/20 for $1135
and the 4/40 for $1487, but I don't know anything about them.
I'm sure I'll get a host of "I don't know anything, but let me know" messages.
No problem, but please mail me if you have any answers/advice.
Question #2: Are the PB100s going to disappear soon, or can we bargain-
hunters wait for the absolutely lowest price?
Thanks,

Subject: Fun Mac Programs
I am taking a short break from most of my freelance magazine writing to work on
a book for Sybex, tentatively entitled Totally Rad Mac, that will focus on
public domain, freeware, and shareware programs that make Macs cool, hip,
personalized, and fun to use, but otherwise have no productivity value <grin>.
You know...stuff like screen savers, StartUpScreens, modified icons, Trash
replacements, dumb desk accessories, stupid system extensions, etc. Admittedly,
the book is conceptually similar to Bob LeVitus' Stupid Mac Tricks, published
by Addison-Wesley, but I hope to avoid duplication and cover considerably more
programs. That's where you come in.
If you know of any programs that fit the above description, please let me know.
Better yet, if you actually have any such programs, please send them my way. If
you are the first to pass along a program I do not yet have, I will be glad to
send you a free autographed copy of the book (oh joy! oh boy!) upon its
publication.
So come on, dig through that pile of floppies, burrow through that big,
bountiful hard drive, and ask your friends and family to clean out their
computer desks in search of Totally Rad Mac programs. Thank you in advance for
your cooperation!--Owen W. Linzmayer
